Rwanda Red Cross is structured hierarchically up to the grassroots level. The decentralization recently initiated countrywide has proved to be relevant to the mission of the movement. About four years ago, all our programs were centralized at the headquarters in Kigali.
Rwanda Red Cross hierarchical organization draws its structure from the administrative structure of the country. Henceforth, Rwanda Red Cross operates throughout five provinces and thirty districts.
At local level, RRC is hierarchically structured as follows:
- The provincial council.
- General assembly at the district, sector, cell and village level.
- Coordinating extended committees at the district, sector and cell level.
- Local committees at the district, sector and cell level assigned to expand the movement’s activities.
